Breakdown

I had one. The crying to my dad for hours kind. He helped a lot, so everyone reading this needs to send my dad a little thought of love for being awesome, supportive, a good listener, understanding, and offering good advice.

There were a lot of things I was upset about. This comic was one of them. Because I've been fighting an unmotivated slump lately while still stressing out over not having a comic page to give you all.

Dad helped remind me that I wasn't doing this for the readers, I was doing it for the fun, to share my story.

I love my Dad.

As a result, once I calmed down and managed to finish eating dinner, I actually felt like being productive again! Yay! I have also decided to re-write a good deal of the first and second chapter to improve my focus. The stuff that is fun for me to draw is the stuff that is fun for you all to read, right? So the new edit should have %50 more fun ^_^

I've still got other things to stress about and work through, but hopefully this comic can stop being one of them. If I don't have a page for a monday, I will at least post what I have done of the page, and update the image until you have a finished comic. Hopefully this will amuse some of you, and others can just start checking the comic on sundays for only finished pages from the week before ~chuckle~

aw.. I'm sorry you're having trouble.. (though I can't really talk about motivation... considering how much I have gotten done on Shades of Veil lately (= nothing)). I'm glad your dad was there to help, though. ^_^ Definitely, when doing a comic, fun should be the first priority... if you're having fun with it, everything else usually either falls into place, or doesn't really seem to matter.

Personally, I'm waiting eagerly for your next page.. though I am amused by the WIP bits. :)
Shall I start emailing you on a daily basis to demand pages? would that help? or should I send you my layouts for Tamuran..?

Have you thought about getting accounts on sites like Top Webcomics, Comixpedia, or OnlineComics.net? Not so much for the ranking, necessarily, but they're pretty good for attracting new readers, which can be exciting...

I am having more fun now that I'm just being a bit relaxed and silly. But sending me Tamuran layouts could never hurt ^_~

I'll look into those sites and see if I like the feel for any of them.

Thanks ^_^ <3

(hug) Good to have someone around to remind you about what's important. :) Your dad is awesome.

I've been having a slump of sorts, more in the vein of being unable to finish anything. The con helped a bit, but now I don't have a con for 4 months, so the motivation drained away a bit. Need to work on that... @_@ I tend to walk away from art when it is not fun and do something fun for a while until I'm inspired again. (Granted, I don't run a comic, but I feel the same should apply anyway. ^^)

Lemme know if you need anything, though. Anything to get my mind off of the drama llama that has taken residence here at work. @_@
